The start is safe. The top is earned. The middle breaks.

In street calisthenics, about 6 in 10 athletes get injured in a year, mostly shoulders, then wrists, elbows and back, and tendon pain is the top diagnosis. The risk isn't at the start or the top: it's the middle, 6 months to 4 years in, when ambition outgrows the tendons. The rules for that stretch: one hard session a day (easy skill sets and mobility around it are fine), raise skill volume slowly, heavy slow tendon work every week, and after any injury, rebuild slower than you think you need to.
P Evidence: promising. Good studies, but small or few. Use it and keep checking.
62% injured in a year; a previous injury and the most vigorous training went with about 4–6 times the odds (Ngo et al. 2021, Chile, 93 athletes, 🟡) · 59% injured; risk higher at 6 months–4 years, with several sessions a day and at an intermediate level in power moves (Mohammad et al. 2024, the Netherlands, 181 athletes, 🟡) · both are surveys of adults: associations, not proof · see 3, 31, 131, 209.
